Toronto, Canada June 10, 2004 -- Idée Inc. the leader in visual search software and Algoba, a leading European Digital Asset Management Solution, today announced a partnership that adds Espion™ Visual Search to Orphea, Algoba's digital asset management solution.

Orphea's new visual search capability will be showcased at the Cepic (Coordination of European Picture Agencies Press and Stock) Congress, June 10-13, 2004 in Copenhagen, Denmark (Stand 34).

Using Espion in Orphea, one can search quickly through a large image database for visually similar images. Given an image to search for, Espion ™ will retrieve all similar images based on the image attributes. Espion uses sophisticated image analysis algorithms with respect to hundreds of image attributes including high level features such as region and object as well as color, shape, texture, luminosity, complexity.. The integration of the Espion module in Orphea Studio will allows the image collection administrator to add a fourth search mode to Orphea's robust multilingual keyword, full-text, and description field search modes.

The ability to search for visually similar images in an image collection allows users to quickly identify duplicates in the system or to match potentially related images. Applying accurate and powerful visual search to large image collections will make these collections searchable for visual similarity and open to creative exploration.

"Following an extensive analysis of search technology, Algoba selected idée's visual search solution for it's superior performance, accuracy and ease of integration. We are delighted to partner with Algoba to enable Orphea users to harness the combined power of visual search and keyword search," said Leila Boujnane, Chief Executive Officer. "With today's announcement we extend our successful partnership with Algoba Systems and look forward to bringing visual search to vast image collections."

"With this integration, Algoba will delivers an innovative digital asset management solution for use by stock photography agencies, science and technology industries as well as government agencies and commercial enterprises", said Bertrand Duval, Chief Executive Officer. "This integration extends our product leadership in digital asset management. The visual search speed and accuracy allows us to bring economies of scale to image searching as we continue to deliver innovative and robust applications to our clients."
